Michael K. Williams talks "Ghostbusters": "I'm in a scene with Slimer!"

Image
This is a very good year to be a fan of actor Michael K. Williams (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire), who has roles in the movies Triple 9 (out Feb. 26) and Assassin's Creed (out Dec. 21) and is one of the stars of SundanceTV's new crime-drama show Hap and Leonard (which premieres March 2). But 2016's most successful Williams-featuring project might be the new Ghostbusters movie, in which he appears alongside Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon, reports EW.com!

"I play the FBI agent who works for the mayor," revealed Williams when he popped into the Entertainment Weekly Radio studios on Thursday. "Our whole thing is, we're going to tell the people it was a flash in the sky and 'Run along little women with your ghosts, we got this.' That was a dream job. They're at the top of their game, man. I had the pleasure of working with Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon on a show on IFC called Spoils Before Dying. So, I had a relation…

Paul Feig Talks About His Upcoming "Ghostbusters" Movie

Image
The Knockturnal YouTube channel had the chance to grab a quick word with Ghostbusters (2016) director Paul Feig at last week's Athena Film Festival:

On having all voices in his films:

"I just want all voices around, you know. I don't think it works when it's all women in charge. I don't think it works with all men. You want both voices because then you don't get stereotype portrayals of each other."

On Leslie Jones in the new Ghostbusters:

"She really kills at the test screenings we've done so far, she just really destroys. People love her."

On fans having an issue with the new film being a reboot:

"Look, there's plenty of fans of Ghostbusters that have an issue with it being a reboot, that I completely get… I find that valid."

On blocking misogynist fans via social media:

"I don't want to give those people a voice and a forum. It's such just a non-starter when it's just misogyny, then... what's the point?&…

UK Hopefuls For Eurovision Song Contest 2016 Revealed!

Image
Bored of knowing the Eurovision Song Contest winner way before the end of the show?

Well, the competition has announced a major shake-up to the voting system in a bid to create more exciting TV and keep the suspense right until the end!

Under the new system, professional juries and the public for each country will award a separate set of points (up to 12). In previous years, both of their votes were combined.

As normal, each country's representative will appear on TV to deliver scores from their nation. The difference is, they will only be announcing the scores awarded by their jury.

The televoting will be added on last, after all the juries' verdicts have been added up. The points from every country's public vote will be combined so that each act will have one lump total added on to their juries' score.

The host will then announce the televoting results, starting with the country with the lowest public total.

"This new way of presenting the votes is a big step fo…

The Simpsons Offers A Up-To-Date Take On The 2016 Presidential Race

Image
Fans used to have to wait a full year at the least (even longer in the UK), for a show like The Simpsons to comment on a recent political event. Now with digital ink and paint, a battalion of Korean Wacoms, and the ability to beam finished animation back to the Fox lot without the need of a boat, it's possible to comment on things that happened as little as two weeks ago. It still isn't possible to devote a full episode to them, though - the full assembly line process still takes the better part of a year to complete.

Hence this brand-new The Simpsons short, which presumably will be the cold opener to tonight's brand-new episode on FOX at 8/9 Central in the USA. The savage tone of the recent US primary is giving Marge nightmares...:

Highlights include more than once joke about "Trump's hair", a Trump Vs. Cruz wrestling match and a Rubio-Robot.

Some of the people seen here have already dropped out, but I think the show can be forgiven for not deleting Jeb Bush…

"Fun House" Theme Song

It's Wacky, it's fun, it's Cr-a-a-a-zy, it's outrageous, it's the Fun House theme tune!:

The British version of Fun House aired on CITV from 1989-99. The game show was hosted by Pat Sharp along with the twin cheerleaders Melanie and Martina Grant, and Gary King as the announcer.

Theme song lyrics to the UK version of Fun House, via Game Shows Wiki:

It's Wacky!
It's Fun!
It's Cr-a-a-a-zy!
It's outrageous!
Fun House,
It's a whole lot of fun,
Prizes to be won!
It's a real crazy show where anything can go!
Fun House,
It's a quiz,
It's a race,
It's a real wacky place!
Use your body and your brain!
If you wanna play the game!

Hi-C Ecto Cooler Could Be Making A Comeback!

Image
The 2010s are the new '90s, what with all the TV reunions and series reboots/revivals, and '90s movies being rereleased in cinemas for new (and old) generations to enjoy.

I ain't afraid of no fizz!
And with all the '90s nostalgia brimming on the Internet, it was only a matter of time until classic '90s food and drink items returned to grocery shelves. First, Surge made a highly-anticipated comeback in 2014, selling out on Amazon almost immediately and causing the Internet lost its mind that a drink from people's childhoods was resurfacing all these years later.

That's why the possible revival of Hi-C's hugely popular Ecto Cooler is driving millennials wild. Already a Facebook trending topic, the Twitter account Resurrect EctoCooler dropped a bombshell for fans of tasty green drinks everywhere!:

Upcoming "The Simpsons" Episode To Air Live

Image
Homer Simpson was once told "Very few cartoons are broadcast live. It's a terrible strain on the animators' wrists."

Well, those animators must be going to the gym, as this Spring, the longest-running American cartoon series will make history again when the last three minutes of the May 15th episode will be, technically, broadcast live!

How is this even possible? With motion-capture technology and Dan Castellaneta being given a wired facelift. Showrunner Al Jean told The Wrap that the final scene will be Homer sitting on the couch and commenting on recent events, possibly hours old. No one outside the Fox lot knows if this new technology looks convincing or embarrassing, but Jean was impressed, and said he’d been watching Fox Sports experiment with it to some success. "It looks great," Jean said. "I'm really confident that people will like it."

To help inspire Homer, fans will be invited to tweet subjects they think he should bring up, using t…

Who you gonna call?

The pre-trailer trailer features a slow piano-key version of Ray Parker Jr.'s hit Ghostbusters song at the end, and a first-look at the updated famous no-ghosts logo, featuring a metallic rim:

Additionally, although confirmed details on the movies villain, played by Neil Casey, remain under lock and key, we've gotten an early sneak peek at the character thanks to Toy Fair. Take a look:

BBC Planning "Are You Being Served?" Reboot

Image
No, BBC, just... no!

Downstairs for bad ideas that should never happen. Going down!

The Metro is reporting that the classic British sitcom Are You Being Served? is being remade by the BBC – and fans are understandably outraged.

The comedy will be rebooted with an 'all-star cast' as part of the corporation's 'landmark comedy season', according to Chortle.

The one-off episode will be recorded in front of a studio audience for March 5.

The BBC said: 'Picking up where Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft's much loved comedy left off, the show will bring Grace Brothers and some of the nation's all-time favourite sitcom characters including Mrs Slocombe, Captain Peacock, Miss Brahms, and Mr Humphries back to life with an all star cast.'

You can apply for up to two tickets to watch the recording here.

The sitcom, starring Mollie Sudden, John Inmand, Frank Thornton and Wendy Richard, ran for ten series from 1972 to 1985 on BBC1. The series had a spin-off titled Grac…

The last thing BBC Three aired before it moved online

Image
So BBC Three has finally left the airwaves in favour of its new online home.

And as such you might have expected it to sign off in style, following a closing night which paid homage to some of its best-known shows.

But no. In fact the station disappeared from your tessellator's with relatively little fanfare – actually, none at all!

Instead, they simply aired a "classic" episode of Gavin & Stacey, showed a trailer for forthcoming drama Thirteen – coming soon to online – and then bowed out with this message:

via GIPHY
And that, BBC Three fans, was it. In fact you'd never have known anything was different to usual if it weren't for the reminder that they'd moved.
To be fair, it did broadcast its last moments at around 4am, with the last programme being the cringe worthy Gavin & Stacey - so chances are you were tucked up in bed and wouldn't have seen it anyway.

During its final night on-air, the channel treated fans to old episodes of Top Gear, Siblin…

Ghostbusters: First Look Photo of the Ecto 2!

Image
This summer's reboot of Ghostbusters is not only bringing a new cast of specter-catching heroes to the big screen, but also new versions of the team's signature vehicle!

In the original 1980s films, Ecto-1 was the team's souped-up station ambulance-hearse combo emblazoned with the Ghostbusters logo.

In the animated series The Real Ghostbusters, Ecto-2 was a two-seater autogyro.

For the 2016 reboot, however, Ecto-2 is a motorcycle. Click on the photo of the vehicle below for the hi-res version:

Ecto-2 is basically a Ghostbusters motorcycle, which Chris Hemsworth's character Kevin was seen riding it in not only the LEGO set photos but leaked set photos as well.

The new Ghostbusters team also have their own version of the classic Ecto-1 vehicle:

Ghostbusters has also just busted its way onto Snapchat where the image above and other exclusive photos will be shared with fans:

"Mrs. Doubtfire" deleted scenes

Image
Alternate and deleted scenes from the blockbuster 1993 film "Mrs. Doubtfire" reveal how the comedy nearly turned into a drama.

That's what the internet discovered when deleted scenes from the film resurfaced online this week, reminding fans just how serious the film's plot - about a man attempting to gain access to his children - actually had the potential to be.

We all laughed heartily at Daniel Hillard's antics as he impersonated an older Scottish lady to try and get close to his kids during a difficult divorce, but we often underestimated the impact the marital breakdown had on his children.

Take oldest daughter Lydia (Lisa Jakub), for example: a deleted sequence from the film shows how her parents' very public squabbling distracted her during a Spelling Bee competition.

And then there's the argument we never witnessed, between Daniel and Miranda (Sally Field), just after she discovered his big secret, which is all the more heartbreaking because it'…
