New Photo from the Set of 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' Released

Empire posted a HUGE exclusive this morning, revealing a brand photo from the set of Ghostbusters: Afterlife!

"#GhostbustersAfterlife director Jason Reitman tells Empire his director dad Ivan Reitman – behind the original #Ghostbusters films – cried and was 'so proud' after watching his new sequel. As you can see above, the image showcases Afterlife‘s Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, and Logan Kim sitting inside the Ecto-1 while wearing khaki Ghostbusters flight suits!

Why’s this photo such a big deal? Well, with the film currently delayed until June 11, 2021, it’s to be expected that a few things that Sony likely want to keep under wraps get leaked, but this the very first time that they’ve officially acknowledged anyone new will be suiting up in the upcoming sequel.

The article also features Jason Reitman talking about his father, Ivan Reitman’s reaction to seeing the film.

“My father hasn’t been leaving the house much because of Covid,” he tells Empire in his first interview about the movie, published in the upcoming new issue – available to pre-order here. “But he took a test, put on a mask and drove down to the Sony lot to watch the movie with the studio. And after, he cried, and he said, ‘I’m so proud to be your father.’ And it was one of the great moments of my life.”

As mentioned in the above blurb, the full interview will be found in Empire’s Greatest Cinema Moments Ever issue, available Thursday, January 21st, 2021.

Hopefully a new Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer isn't that far behind!
