From Digital Spy:
'Ghostbusters 3' to shoot this year?
Dan Aykroyd has revealed that Ghostbusters 3 may begin shooting this autumn.
The 56-year-old, who co-wrote and starred in the '80s comedies, revealed in an online chat to The Boston Globe that Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg had started working on a script for the sequel.
Aykroyd said: "Script commenced early summer. Hope to be in production by late fall 2009."
It has been rumoured that original cast members Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Aykroyd will reprise their roles in the sequel and hand over the ghostbusting reigns to a younger team.
The first Ghostbusters, released in 1984, grossed $292 million at the worldwide box office and was followed by a sequel in 1989.
