‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Cast Hint At Their Involvement In Sequel Movie

Yesterday, the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife was given a release date of December 2023.

While no additional details were were given outside of the announcement, several of the stars from Afterlife have taken to social media, seemingly confirming their involvement in the upcoming project.

First up, there’s Mckenna Grace, who arguably stole the show in Afterlife, playing the role of Phoebe, granddaughter to Egon Spengler.

Grace, who just celebrated her 16th birthday over the weekend, posted the message “WE ARE BACK December 2023!,” on her Instagram along with a barrage of photos and a video from the set of Afterlife, and an adorable image of her with a Kenner Real Ghostbusters Slimer toy at the age of 4.

Next up, we’ve got Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Logan Kim, who all took to their Instagram stories, sharing the news of the release date.

There has been no word from Celeste O’Connor, who played Lucky in last year’s film. However, they did help promote Ghostbusters Day through social media, making inclusion rather likely.

The film is expected to pick up in New York, tieing into Afterlife‘s ending, which had the Ecto-1 reentering the city, along with a post-credit scene that saw Ernie Hudson’s character, Winston Zeddemore, arriving at the firehouse.

The upcoming film is expected to continue the “Spengler family story,” further adding to the expectation that the majority, if not all of the cast introduced in Afterlife, will likely return.
