Not only did the creative duo of Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan announce that a follow-up to Ghostbusters: Afterlife is in the works, lovingly entitled Firehouse, but an animated feature film is also being made by Sony Pictures Animation.
The untitled animated feature will be helmed by Jennifer Kluska and Chris Prynoski and will be written by Brenda Hsueh. It’s said to include an all-new team and what is being described as a whole new take.

Regarding the announcement, Reitman said:
“This was a passion project of my father’s and it’s easy to understand why. The world of the unknown can only be properly explored through the limitless reach of animation.”
In addition to the animated feature-length film, Ghostbusters Day also saw the announcement of an animated Ghostbusters series currently in the works by Netflix and Ghost Corps, Inc.
