Ford Unveils "Metal Gear Solid" Car Commercials

Ford have enlisted the help of the Playstation classic Metal Gear Solid to promote their line of cars!

For two slightly bizarre new commercials, Ford have appropriated footage from the games to advertise the advance features of the Ford Focus. In the first, Psycho Mantis reads Solid Snake's mind and finds out he wants a 2017 Ford Fusion Titanium, and in the second, Col. Roy Campbell Codec calls Solid Snake for a briefing of the utmost important - the 2016 Ford Focus:

A Meeting with Psycho Mantis | Ford Overdubs

Psycho Mantis knows you want a 2017 Ford Fusion Titanium. Why argue?

A Codec Call to Remember | Ford Overdubs

When the Colonel calls about the 2016 Ford Focus, you answer.

This isn't the first time Ford have used pop culture characters in its advertisements. Two months ago, Ford released adverts featuring redubbed Dragon Ball Z.

Ford's new commercials also feature the original MGS actors... which makes things even more confusing if you know the recent history of bridge burning between Konami, Hideo Kojima, and Solid Snake's voice actor David Hayter. Kojima hates Konami for treating him like garbage and then firing him, Hayter hates both Konami and Kojima for replacing him with Keifer Sutherland in MGS 5 (why change what works?!), and Konami seems to hates everybody and everything.
