DST's Ghostbusters Select Action Figures Series 2 Hits Stores; Series 3 Available To Pre-Order Now!

This week, the second series of Ghostbusters Select Action Figures ships to comic shops from Diamond Select Toys, with Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler and Dana Barrett joining the previously released Ray Stanz, Winston Zeddemore and Louis Tully!

Based on the hit original 1984 Ghostbusters film, each of these 7" scale figures will come packaged with a piece of Gozer The Gozerian's rooftop temple diorama from the climactic scene, which will be spread across all 15 releases in the line. And once you have Series 2 in your hands, you'll be able to pre-order Series 3!

Ghostbusters Select Series 3, featuring Slimer, Janine, and Quitting Time Ray will ship later this summer, and pre-orders are open for all three figures starting this week. As with Series 2, each will come with a diorama piece at comic shops and specialty stores, as well as accessories: Ray will come with his ghostbusting gear; Janine will come with a phone, buzzer and takeout containers; and Slimer will come with two interchangeable faces, one of them stuffed with hot dogs!

Series 4, featuring Gozer, Walter Peck and Slimed Peter will follow later on this year, and Series 5 with Terror Dog, Library Ghost and Taxi Driver Ghost will ship in early 2017. All 15 figures will be required to build the rooftop diorama, and those diorama parts will only be available with the Select versions of the figures, in the larger, specialty market-exclusive packaging, with spine artwork.

Diamond Select Toys will also offer products based on the new 2016 Ghostbusters movie, including Minimates mini-figures, banks, vehicles and kitchenware. The first assortment of Minimates is available for pre-order now.

It's Wacky, it's fun, it's Cr-a-a-a-zy, it's outrageous, it's the Fun House theme tune!:

The British version of Fun House aired on CITV from 1989-99. The game show was hosted by Pat Sharp along with the twin cheerleaders Melanie and Martina Grant, and Gary King as the announcer.

Theme song lyrics to the UK version of Fun House, via Game Shows Wiki:

It's Wacky!
It's Fun!
It's Cr-a-a-a-zy!
It's outrageous!
Fun House,
It's a whole lot of fun,
Prizes to be won!
It's a real crazy show where anything can go!
Fun House,
It's a quiz,
It's a race,
It's a real wacky place!
Use your body and your brain!
If you wanna play the game!

Two years after the all-female reboot of the beloved 1980s franchise arrived, original star Dan Aykroyd is now promising that a true Ghostbusters 3, starring the three surviving OG ‘busters, is on its way. Many thought the death of Harold Ramis, who played Egon Spengler, in 2014 had put paid to a proper reunion, but Aykroyd’s comments suggest that we can look forward to him teaming up with Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson in the near future.

While speaking on The Big Interview With Dan Rather, the man fans know as Dr. Ray Stantz, the heart of the Ghostbusters agreed with Rather’s wording that he was talking about making a “full-blown third Ghostbusters,” with an unknown writer already currently working on the script. Obviously, Aykroyd wouldn’t let on to anything about story details, but he did tease that it’ll try and recapture what worked so well about the original films while giving it a “21st century” twist.

“I think we got a story that’s gonna work. It’s being written by a really goo…
