Bill Murray on 'Ghostbusters 3': 'I think we'll try again' - video
Bill Murray says he may reprise his role as Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters 3.
Bill Murray has suggested that he may still reprise his role as Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters 3.
The Moonrise Kingdom star, who reportedly turned down an offer to star in the sequel after reading the script, told The Late Show's David Letterman that reporters at the Cannes Film Festival were constantly asking him about the project.
Murray hinted that he is still willing to "try again" for a big screen reunion with Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.
"You've just got to have a really good script. It's hard," he said. "Even the second Ghostbusters wasn't as funny for me as the first one. It's hard to make a sequel.
"It's got to be really funny and that first one was so darn funny. I think we'll try again. I always drag my feet on it."
Murray was allegedly quoted as saying that Ghostbusters 3 was "a possibility" in April.
Studio Sony Pictures is said to be unwilling to make Ghostbusters 3 without Murray's involvement, while Sigourney Weaver admitted that she will not rejoin the cast unless the comedy star reprises his role as Peter Venkman.
