Ernie Hudson Confirms Return for Upcoming 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' Sequel

Ernie Hudson has confirmed that he'll be part of the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel!


In an update, Hudson, a guest on today’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, was asked about the upcoming sequel, with his answer finally confirming his involvement.


“There will be another Ghostbusters that I can definitely say,” adding, “Thanks to all the fans. They loved [Ghostbusters: Afterlife], so we’ll be making another Ghostbusters."

The news follows original Ghostbusters actor Hudson recently admitting to ComicBook.com that he had read a draft of the script, mentioning that he was “very happy with it,” but still hadn’t negotiated a deal.

The actor joins Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon who are also coming back to reprise their roles alongside Ghostbusters: Afterlife‘s ensemble cast, with Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard confirming their involvement in separate interviews. Gil Kenan will be taking over directorial duties for the new Ghostbusters film.

In Afterlife, Winston is said to have coined a fortune, with many fans expecting the character to be the Ghostbusters’ financial backing within the upcoming film, with Hudson saying:

“And I’m happy to say that Winston, the character that I play, is now a billionaire, so he has a little bit more freedom.”
